Originally trained as a jeweller, I have evolved a practice that incorporates a wide range of materials and techniques. All of my work relates to craft: the pleasures and pains of making things by hand, using deliberate and considered methods and processes. I am fascinated by the power and poetry of small objects, and in this sense I maintain the sensibility of a jeweller, even when I am not making jewellery.
This site provides an overview of my work since 1998. There is no unifying theme or theory here, but I do return to certain subjects and methods over time. Some pages feature stand alone artefacts, whilst some cover more extensive projects.
I am affiliated with DWFE: a disorganised experimental design syndicate founded by me, Jimmy Loizeau and Matt Ward.
I teach at Goldsmiths, University of London.
