LJP IUD: Research project

The aim of LJP IUD was to explore the notion that positive or negative attitudes towards a medical device might be affected by aesthetic or physical qualities.

The Margaret Pyke Family Planning Clinic hosted the research aspect, by allowing a questionnaire to be distributed to their patients. The outcomes generated included jewellery-scale artefacts, drawings and quotes, which were collated in the form of a book (LJP IUD, publisher Laura J Potter [London], ISBN 0-9546549-0-0). A limited number of these books are available: for details please contact me.

Modus Operandi Art Consultants, on behalf of London Arts, facilitated this placement programme for mid-career designer-makers. A primary aim was to foster genuine collaboration and opportunity between practitioners and other professionals, taking their work into a new realm in terms of conceptual and creative approach.
